18 Dec Horsham property market bucking national trend
Over the past year, the average listed price of a terraced house in Horsham has risen by an incredible 15% from £247,418 to £284,702. As the Horsham property market is seemingly bucking the national trend, local property experts, Courtney Green, are encouraging vendors and buyers to look at what is happening locally, rather than relying on national statistics.
With the average house price in Horsham standing at just over £330,000, that’s £3,000 higher than in 2011, things aren’t as bleak as they first seem.
Buyers are also purchasing quicker, again going against national statistics, with Horsham properties remaining on the market for an average of 64 days, meaning they’re selling a whole month sooner than in 2011, and a whole 41 days faster than the national average.
Steven Greenfield, Director of Courtney Green commented:
“Local buyers and sellers learn about the property industry ‘crisis’ from UK wide statistics, but if you look at what is happening in Horsham, it tells a completely different story. So if you’re wanting to sell locally there is no reason to wait for the market to pick up.”
Having been based in Horsham for just under 25 years, Courtney Green is extremely knowledgeable about the local area and feels that the desirability of Horsham has a lot to do with the market remaining strong.
“Horsham scores consistently high in most desirables places to live polls, most recently coming fifth out of 325 districts in analysis by Experian. Having good schools, a town and country feel, a wide range of housing and good employment rates make the town a sought after location. And it is this which will consistently bring new property hunters, whether to buy or rent, helping to ensure that the market continues to prosper.”
